Fertility treatments vary from one patient to another. After your initial consultation, we can help you get a better understanding of the overall costs associated with any treatment recommended to you.


Seeking fertility help is a big decision, but you may have access to financial options that can help you cover certain costs.

What’s covered by MSP?

Your initial consult and most analyses required to assess your fertility needs are covered by your B.C. Care Card. For B.C. residents, Medical Services Plan (MSP) coverage includes the following:

Investigation and treatment of female and male infertility

Ovulation problems

Male factors

Unexplained infertility

Endometriosis

Previous pelvic inflammatory disease

Uterine factors

Immunological aspects of infertility

Diagnostic procedures

Ultrasound assessment of pelvis, ovaries, and uterus related to fertility investigation and treatment

Laparoscopy

Hysteroscopy

Medical management of complex endocrinological disorders

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

Amenorrhea

Hyperprolactinemia

Hirsutism and related syndromes of androgen excess

Premature ovarian failure

Menopause

Fertility surgery

Laparoscopic surgery for fallopian tubal disease, endometriosis, pelvic adhesions, and other associated fertility factors

Hysteroscopic surgery (e.g., polyps, fibroids, or adhesions in the uterine cavity)

Male fertility assessment

Sperm profile with detailed morphology (count, motility, morphology) $300
Sperm antibodies $80

Female fertility assessment

All consultations and most blood tests No charge (with B.C. Care Card and referral)
Initial ultrasound for ovarian reserve (antral follicle count) No charge (with B.C. Care Card and referral)
Saline infusion sonogram (SIS) + hysterosalpingo-contrast-sonography (HyCoSy) $450
Endometrial biopsy No charge (with B.C. Care Card and referral)

In vitro fertilization (IVF)

IVF $9,100
IVF + intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) $10,750
IVF + MESA/TESA sperm (fees for MESA/TESA procedure not included) $11,100

Medications are not included and may range from $4,000 - $6,000.


Total IVF cost with medication excluding freeze and storage is typically in the $12,000 - $16,000 range.

Embryo freezing is an additional $750.

Non-Canadian fee is $100.

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) & natural cycle monitoring

IUI using ovulation predictor kit (OPK) only $800
IUI with ultrasound monitoring $1,100

Medications and OPK’s are not included and may range from $40 - $200.

Non-Canadian fee is $100.

Donor sperm

Shipment receiving fee $300
Storage fee (6-months) $300

Additional cost to IUI or IVF treatment.


Purchase of sperm and shipping from sperm bank not included and need to be arranged by the patient.

Please note that fees may change without notice and do not include the costs of medications.
Payment is due before treatment.

Personal cheques over $500 cannot be accepted. Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), Debit, Bank Draft.

Fees are subject to change without advanced notice.

Fees do not include the costs of medication, which may or may not be covered by your insurer.

Payment is due before treatment.

Payments can be made by Visa, MasterCard, debit, bank draft, or cheque. Cheques over $500 will not be accepted.

Cancellations without a 48hrs notice will result in a $50 charge.

If a cycle is cancelled at any point, please ask for our refund policy.

Refunds are processed in exactly the same manner as payment was made (except for cash and debit payments). The original receipt must be returned in order to be eligible for a refund.

A valid Canadian Health Care card must be provided. All encounters with physicians are partially covered by your provincial health care plan (other than Quebec) except medical procedures.
